Plant Operations Call Center

The Plant Operations Call Center (POCC) is the communications hub of the Plant Operations Department and the front line communications with campus departments. Work requests are initiated, dispatched, coordinated, and tracked through our computerized Facilities Management System. Inquiries on any Plant Work Request can be followed up on by calling the Call Center at 647-2059 or email POCC (get address) (38.103.63.16).

In a joint effort with Housing Facilities, on February 2, 2004, the Plant Operations Call Center began accepting after hours (4:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. weekdays and 24 hours on all weekends and holidays) calls for facilities emergencies in Student buildings and Northwood Community Apartments on campus. The POCC is able to communicate directly with Housing Facilities staff, via two-way radio and by telephone, to effect an immediate response to most emergency situations.

General Fund vs. Customer Pay

Work done in a general fund building to fixed equipment is done out of the general fund budget at no charge to the department (call 647-2059 or use the online service request).

Work is also done in buildings that are not general fund or to equipment that is not fixed to the building on a customer pay basis with a cost to the department.
