Welcome to the Electrical Engineering Section homepage. The staff of the Electrical Engineering Section of Utilities & Plant Engineering at Plant Operations is responsible for the following areas:

• Design and maintenance of University building electrical systems.
• Revisions to and updating of the high voltage electrical infrastructure master plan to insure future adequate electric power is available for the renovation and upgrading of existing buildings and construction of new buildings.
• Design and maintenance of outdoor lighting for campus safety and security.
• Planning, design, and maintenance of electric utility metering and data retrieval system.
• Monitoring of campus building electrical consumption.

The electrical engineers focus on providing a safe, reliable and efficient electrical distribution system for the University campus. As the following web pages illustrate, the Electrical Engineering Section partners with the Electrical Work Group to cooperatively maintain, modernize and expand the highly complex campus electrical distribution grid to provide quality power to campus buildings and outdoor lighting for parking lots, parking structures, and campus streets and sidewalks.
