About the Roofing Shop

The Roofing Shop provides complete roofing services:

• Repairs to any type of roof system
• Reroofs from tear-offs to recovers
• New roofs of any type (shingles, slate, tile, rubber, metal, built up, single plys of any type, etc.)
• Inspection service for existing roof condition, survey included, during construction inspection of new work and reroofs
• Survey includes present condition, test cut information of the system, deck type and buildings roofing history.
• Water proofing above or below grade as well as inside building
• Installation of new mechanical unit on existing roofs
• Cleaning of roof drains, roof gutters, and downspouts prior to the winter season

The mission of the Roofing Shop is to repair, maintain and replace roofing systems to provide a watertight environment for the safety and comfort of the students, faculty and staff of the University of Michigan.

Operating Hours Regular Schedule: From the last Monday in August to the first Friday in May 7AM until 3:30PM   Summer Schedule: From the second Monday in May to the last Friday in August 6AM until 3:30PM   Phone support is available through the Plant Operations Call Center at 7-2059.
