The Chilled Water Systems Shop provides the following maintenance, testing, and repair services:
- Chiller Operation and Maintenance: start-up, operation, repair, and maintenance of building chillers and associated systems (cooling towers, valves, pumps, and controls).
- Chilled Water Systems: Startup, operation, repair, and maintenance of cooling systems in University buildings.
The Chilled Water Systems Shop also provides these specialty services:
- Eddy Current Analysis: Certified technicians analyze tube condition in chillers and heat exchangers to detect incipient failures, cut maintenance costs, and reduce service downtime.
- Water Treatment: The treatment and maintenance of condenser, chilled, and hot water hydronic systems.
What is Air Conditioning?
The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) defines air conditioning as "The process of treating air so as to control simultaneously its temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and distribution to meet the requirements of the conditioned space."
