Campus Land Use Inventory

The UM Grounds Department maintains a land use inventory map of the campus. The land uses that are inventoried are:

University Buildings
Planting Beds
Perennial Beds
Annual Beds
Turf Areas
Game Courts
Sidewalk – Specialty Paving
Sidewalk – Concrete
Stairs
Parking Lots
University Roads
Meadow-Woods
Gravel/Mulch

Each land use has been mapped and measured to determine the number of square or linear feet that exists. The UM Grounds Department uses the land use inventory for landscape design and maintenance planning.
