Stadium Recycling Program

Michigan Football
The Football Recycling program was started in 1995 by Grounds and Waste Management staff with the assistance of some ambitious graduate students. Each year since, we have had dedicated staff and students working the games. They have all earned the "Recycling Champions" T-shirt they're given! In 1994 only .7 tons of paper and cardboard were collected for the season. Since the program started, over 105.87 tons of cardboard and paper have been recycled. Mixed container collection started in the 1999 season. Since then we have recycled 99.7 tons of mixed containers!
